Logcast, the social network for audio creators, announced today the formation of the company’s Board of Directors, with executives from Ericsson, Bauer Media and Nordic Capital to join the board.

Linda Palmgren, CEO of Bauer Media Group, has been appointed to the company’s board of directors, in addition to Niklas Carlheim-Müeller, former Vice President at Ericsson, and Mathias Jussila, former Director at Nordic Capital.

“We are thrilled that Linda, Niklas and Mathias are joining the board, and are confident that Logcast will benefit greatly from their vast experience and knowledge in scaling entertainment and technology businesses. Our new board of directors join us at an exciting time, as we launch Logcast globally, and we are grateful for the opportunity to learn and collaborate together,” says Leni Andronicos, CEO.

Linda Palmgren has served as Chief Executive Officer at Bauer Media Group, Europe’s largest commercial radio network with 57 million listeners weekly, since May 2020. Prior to joining Bauer Media, Palmgren served as Chief Development Office at Publicis Group and Managing Director of Starcom.

”I am proud to have joined the board of directors of Logcast and look forward to further assisting the business on a strategic level and being a part of developing the audio world together,” said Palmgren. “I strongly believe in audio communication and as part of Bauer Media Audio with the vision of becoming the global audio pioneer. My aspiration as a pioneer for audio and the mission of Logcast is of course to let more people experience the power of audio through social podcasts and all other features the experience of Logcast provides.”

“Linda brings unparalleled industry expertise across audio entertainment, including strategy, operations and business model development,” said Johanna Hoof, co-founder of Logcast. “She has long been a visionary in the audio industry, and all of us will benefit from her tremendous insight, experiences and passion for entertainment.”

Prior to joining Logcast as investors and board directors, Niklas Carlheim-Müeller spent 21 years with Ericsson, most recently as Vice President and General Manager of a $4B operating unit.

With my long experience of developing and scaling disruptive products and businesses from idea to global market, I can help Logcast accelerate sustainable growth and reach global adoption.

“I believe that a voice-first social network giving users the opportunity to listen to people and organizations they are interested in, and share authentically from their lives, is an evolution that people desire from today’s social networking experience where their total attention is locked to a screen and not allowing any parallel use of their time,” said Carlheim-Müeller.

“As a thoughtful and passionate leader, Niklas helped bring some of Sweden’s most cutting-edge technologies to life during his time at Ericsson, and his vision will continue to make a positive impact on people’s lives through the power of Logcast’s technology,” added Andronicos.

Mathias Jussila brings solid experience from roles in private equity and investment banking, most recently as Director at Nordic Capital, where he served on the leadership team for almost seven years. Prior to that, Mathias worked at Deutsche Bank in London focusing on M&A and capital markets transactions.

“I am thrilled to join Logcast’s Board of Directors. I am impressed by what the Logcast team has built over a short period of time and I was attracted by the founder’s inspiring vision of how we can create, share and consume audio content seamlessly and unfiltered in the future with Logcast,” said Jussila. “Leni and Johanna are an amazing founding team and I am pleased to have the opportunity to support Logcast’s continued journey. I will support Logcast and its growth by drawing on my experience from private equity, fundraising and capital markets.”

“Mathias is a proven leader with deep experience at the highest levels of the M&A industry, and his financial and operational expertise will be invaluable to Logcast as we continue to expand our company offering. The entire Logcast team join me in welcoming our new directors to the board.”

About Logcast

Logcast™ is a social audio network empowering the next generation of audio creators. Built out of Sweden, the app lets people record, share and monetize short-form audio updates (known as “logs”) instantly with one tap. For the first time, podcasting has been made social — you can follow friends, join conversations, share your ideas and earn money directly from your listeners.

The Stockholm-based startup, founded by Johanna Hoof and Leni Andronicos, enables anyone with a smartphone to create audio experiences within seconds, with users able to record and share content on the go with “one tap”. Once creators have recorded their voice, they can edit the clip, add a photo and share it instantly with their community on the app. In an attempt to encourage authentic content, the app doesn’t allow pre-recorded uploads; instead, users have one shot at pressing the record button, recording the content and publishing.

Logcast makes the traditionally one-sided experience of podcasting social for the first time, with users able to follow their friends, create Projects, join groups (or “Circles”), send private messages, and discover personalised experiences as served by the app’s data-driven recommendation engine. It’s been described as a personalized “micro podcast” reel — or if you took a podcast app, crossed it with Twitter and added a dash of TikTok.

Since the global launch of its public beta, thousands of creators, including music artists, comedians, sports stars, and health & lifestyle experts, have joined the platform from more than 10 countries.

Current backers of Logcast include global tech and entertainment executives Jonas Siljemark (former Vice President, Warner Music Nordics), Adam Jafer (founder of Swedish unicorn VOI Technology), Juan Serruya (former Head of Engineering, Spotify), and Jens Nygård (Vice President, Episerver).
