Logcast selected by Business Sweden to participate in GITEX 2021, Largest Startup Event in MEA
Logcast, the social audio network empowering the next generation of audio creators, announces that it has been selected by Business Sweden, the Embassy of Sweden Abu Dhabi, Tillväxtverket and Startup Sweden to participate in GITEX Technology Week 2021, the biggest startup event in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia, as part of EXPO 2020.
GITEX Future Stars is hosted alongside the Dubai Expo and brings together global industry leaders, startups and entrepreneurs to work together to transform the future of the world’s digital economy.
Representing Sweden and its diverse startup ecosystem, Logcast will showcase its innovation, creativity and share knowledge in diverse areas including AI, machine learning and blockchain during the program. The company will also present its unique fan-focused marketplace for audio collectibles publically for the first time, transforming the way creators engage with their community and supporting more interactive audio experiences for their fans.
“Logcast exists to give every person in the world a voice, and we do this by building technology that has a democratizing effect, eliminating barriers and granting access so that new ideas and information can spread. The MEA region will play an important role in realizing this mission and thereby accelerate our representation,” says Johanna Hoof, co-founder at Logcast.
The Swedish pavilion, The Forest, is located in the sustainability district and will offer visitors a series of diversified and unexpected experiences in a fully connected and interactive environment. The Swedish Pavilion will focus on new ways to build The Smart Society, including topics such as tech, life science, next-generation transport, Industry 4.0, new materials, smart cities, and circular bio-based economies.
“I first met Leni last year at our Startup Sweden Stockholm bootcamp and I must say I was clearly impressed with her bold ambitions for Logcast. Now Sweden has a social media platform that will compete with the likes of Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. It’s a brilliant move considering the popularity of podcasts and voice-enabled platforms,” says Dawn Nordenblank, Startup Sweden.
“There is a huge opportunity in emerging markets where 85% of the world’s population live. And if you look at GDP growth today, most comes from emerging markets,” she continues. “The population in MENA is 578 million and this region experienced the highest rate of population growth compared to any other region over the past century. It’s a young, tech savvy population with 50% under the age of 25.
The future of market capitalisation growth for tech companies globally is within emerging markets like MENA. GITEX is the largest tech event in the region and is currently in its 40th year. It makes good business sense to showcase Swedish tech at the exhibition.”
