  • New community fundraise follows Logcast’s successful institutional fundraise, backed by Silicon Valley VC giant Goodwater Capital
  • Funds will be used to support product innovation and Logcast’s expansion into Asia and deeper into Europe

Logcast, the next-gen voice streaming platform built out of Sweden, has announced it will offer a stake of the company to music artists, creators and their fans as part of its first community investment round. Set to become creator-owned this is marking the beginning of a new era of social where the community has the power.

The opportunity to invest will be offered on the same terms as the company’s most recent institutional fundraise, backed by private and established investors including Silicon Valley venture capital giant Goodwater Capital who were early investors in Facebook and Twitter and have more than $4B under management. The shares will be available to people on a first-come, first-serve basis with pre-registrations opening today.

The community investment opportunity comes just weeks after the company announced its global partnership with Spotify — expanding its audience to more than 450 million listeners. In addition to sharing music to their Artist Page, artists will now also be able to share and monetize short-form talk content with their listeners, like special announcements and behind-the-scenes moments from their music careers, via the Logcast app.

Founded by entertainment-tech veteran Leni Andronicos (ex Spotify, MTV) and award-winning podcast producer Johanna Hoof, current investors in Logcast include institutional investors Goodwater Capital and global tech and entertainment executives including former Warner Music Group head Jonas Siljemark, former Ericsson Vice President Niklas Carlheim-Mueller, former Telia & Du CEO Johan Dennelind and Billboard #1 streaming executive JR Mckee.

Leni Andronicos, CEO said: “2022 was a transformational year for Logcast, and I believe 2023 will be even bigger yet, as we fulfill our mission to build the social super-company of this generation. With growing demand for audio content and the next major platform shift from mobile to wearables, the scene is set for Logcast to seize a generational opportunity.

“We knew from day one if we were to have a chance at building the next generation super company it had to be done with our community,” Andronicos continued. “It’s been a long time coming, but the future of social is here and we want our community to be co-owners from the very beginning. We believe Logcast will grow bigger and faster if it’s owned and operated by its users, and we are excited to partner with Crowdcube to bring this vision to life.”

The financing round is being done by European equity-based community fundraising platform Crowdcube. Pre-registered users will get access to the community fundraising campaign next month before it is opened to the general public.

“Logcast is empowering creators and music artists with its innovative social audio platform. We are delighted they are now giving them as well as their users and fans the chance to invest in the company and become part of its onward journey via this community fundraising campaign together with us”, says Mikael Angesjö, General Manager Crowdcube Nordics.

In addition to receiving shares in Logcast, investors who become part of this community funding round will get access to exclusive benefits such as VIP access to Logcast events, early access to new features and the opportunity to win a Board Observer seat to represent the community.

The proceeds of the community investment round will be used to turbocharge growth by investing in product innovation and international expansion. Logcast’s 2023 roadmap includes the global rollout of its Spotify integration and the platform’s launch to users in Asia.

Since the company’s launch in November 2021, Logcast has attracted more than 15,000 creators in over 60 countries, including a series of high-profile users including Paris Saint-Germain Football Club and #1 Billboard chart-topping artist Muni Long. The company’s largest markets are Scandinavia and the United States.
