Dear community,
Ukraine is home to many of our early creators and community members. Through their stories, we have gotten to know their country, their culture, their strength.
It feels like just yesterday we were hearing stories from inside their buzzing family homes, of their Transcarpathian travels, and their unique and, at times, extremely peculiar traditions.
Today, they are fighting for their freedom and democracy.
They can’t stop this war without the full support of the world, and that means us too.
We decided to use our tools to help Ukrainians share their stories and spread the truth about what is happening to Russia and right around the world.
The images and videos we see online tell a good story, but they don’t tell us the full story. By giving Ukrainians a platform to share their own experiences, live, in-the-moment and as they’re happening, we believe we can help get the real story out to the world.
We are seeking Ukrainians who are willing to share their story. Please email emily@logcast.io if that is you.
We will share these stories via a massive information campaign around the world.
We will send push-notifications to every user in Russia with a message from a Ukrainian that communicates the real situation.
We have added in-app messages to our users from all over the world, directing them to donate to humanitarian aid organizations providing relief to the people of Ukraine.
We will launch a fundraising campaign which allows you to donate directly to Ukrainians sharing their stories, removing all fees to ensure 100% of donations reach the people of Ukraine.
We do not have any advertising running in Ukraine or Russia, and we are complying with all sanctions targeting Russian businesses and individuals. We will continue to offer the Logcast app in both countries as it remains an important communication tool for family and friends.
We have increased our content moderation efforts on the platform, and are vigilantly monitoring it for any disinformation. We will continue to only feature content from verified creators.
We have pledged money towards humanitarian aid and we are supporting organisations providing relief to the people of Ukraine. You can join us by contributing to the following organisations:
CARE International: Providing emergency supplies such as food, water, hygiene kits and cash to cover daily needs.
Direct Relief: Providing medicine and medical supplies to Ukrainian healthcare providers.
Nova Ukraine: Providing aid & relief packages including clothes and household supplies.
Save the Children: Providing emergency support to at-risk children in Ukraine.
International Red Cross: Supporting food-producing initiatives and infrastructure repair/aid to schools, hospitals and community centers.
World Food Programme: Providing food assistance to more than 3 million affected citizens.
